![]() Volunteer with FIRST FIRST Tech Challenge Alabama State Championship March 1 & 2 New Century Technology High School 2500 Meridian St. NHuntsville, AL 35811 FIRST Tech Challenge teams (up to 15 team members, grades 7-12) are challenged to design, build, program, and operate robots to compete in a head-to-head challenge in an alliance format. FIRST Robotics Competition Rocket City Regional April 4 – 6 Von Braun Center 700 Monroe St. SW Huntsville, AL 35801 Under strict rules and limited time and resources, teams of high school students are challenged to build industrial-size robots to play a difficult field game in alliance with other teams, while also fundraising to meet their goals, designing a team “brand,” and advancing respect and appreciation for STEM within the local community. ![]() Society of American Military Engineers Camps SAME Engineering and Construction Camps Membership is NOT required by Parent or Student Weeklong camp hosted by the military and led by military and engineering professionals open to rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Camp cost ranges from $100 – $800. Many posts will sponsor to offset students registration cost and/ or reimburse student travel costs to camp. Hosted by military services (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Air Force Academy), but is NOT to enlist/ increase interest for military service, with exception of the Air Force Academy Have non-student Mentors, Camp Mom/Dad, Instructors, Judges, Daily organizers.
