Apogee Award – Rylynn Dallas

Rylynn Dallas is an accomplished leader with over 20 years of experience in managing complex programs. As the Program Director at Raytheon Technologies, she oversees the deployment and sustainment of critical radar systems, driving technical advancements and ensuring operational readiness for both domestic and international military operations. Known for her expertise in managing large-scale budgets, Rylynn has consistently delivered results while maintaining fiscal discipline and improving efficiency. Rylynn is an active SWE member who fosters the development of future leaders through hands-on mentorship and STEM initiatives. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her friends and family.

Ascent Award – Rose Robles
|
Rose Robles is a Mechanical Design Engineer at Lockheed Martin (LM) and an Engineering Leadership Development Program Class of 2024 graduate. Rose joined LM in 2019 and has held various roles across multiple programs in support of planetary and national security missions. In her current role, she designs and develops mechanical systems for spacecraft and defense applications. Rose holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Washington State University and a Master’s in Space Systems Engineering from the Johns Hopkins University. Rose serves as Space Huntsville Chair for the Professional Asian American Network and is a member of the Society of Women Engineers.

Ignite Award – Beatriz Samur-Zuniga
|
Beatriz Samur-Zuniga graduated this May with an Industrial and Systems Engineering degree from the University of Alabama in Huntsville! During her time at UAH, she was very involved with the Engineering Ambassador program, and she also served as the President for the SWE section at UAH. After having internship opportunities in various industries, Beatriz started her role as a Project Manager at Epic Systems in Wisconsin this June. She is also very thankful to continue pursuing her higher education, as she starts her Online Master’s Degree in Business Analytics at the Georgia Institute of Technology this Fall.

New Futures Outreach Event
|
Event Date: July 26, 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM
We are excited for our third year of leading camps with New Futures! New Futures is the only homeless shelter in north Alabama that allows families to reside in a unit together. Year-round, they have up to 25 children on-site at any time.
We will lead two workshops followed by lunch with the children and their parents.

Donations
We are asking for donations to help cover the cost for the event, including activity supplies and providing lunch for our campers.
Additional unused funds will be donated to New Futures.
