SWE members visited New Futures Inc. last month and introduced families to STEM at the third annual summer camp! Participants learned about water filtration with an oil spill experiment and then tested custom space suits for peeps using a vacuum chamber. Why would I want to be an ABET evaluator?
with Donna Reese
August 27, 11:30 AM – 12: 30 PM
Chances are if you got a BS in engineering or computing from an American university, that degree was accredited by ABET, the organization that provides specialized accreditation for engineering, computing, engineering technology and applied and natural science programs around the world. ABET is a non-profit organization that relies on volunteers from its member societies to conduct evaluations of academic programs in these disciplines around the world. In 2025, SWE became a full member society of ABET and SWE members may apply to become program evaluators for ABET. Donna will talk about her experiences as an ABET volunteer and explain why others might want to participate as well.
