FY26 Executive Council

The North Alabama Executive Council is comprised of local members who are elected to serve for one fiscal term (July 2025 – June 2026).

Shela Joyce (she/her) is a Quality Manager at IPEX in Madison, AL. Since joining in 2016, Shela has been an active Society of Women Engineers member.  As a leader in her collegiate section, she spent two years developing a mentoring program with local SWENext clubs.  Since then, she actively revitalized the North Alabama professional section, elevating the section into good standing and developing sustainable section events while serving as president.  Her favorite local events have been the New Futures STEM Camp and the North Alabama STEM Essay Contest.  In her free-time, she enjoys trail running, crafting, and traveling.

Reagan is a new member of SWE and excited to connect with a community of like-minded women in engineering. She currently works as a project manager and sales representative at Trinity Rubber and Machine Products. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology. She also served in the Army Reserves, where she earned the rank of sergeant as a chemical specialist. Outside of work, she enjoys visiting national parks with her husband, Matthew, and spending quality time with her family. She’s excited to be plugged into a group of female engineers and to help each other grow in both our careers and lives.

Darnisha is a Radar System Engineer at Raytheon (an RTX Business). She currently supports the AN/TPY-2 sensor as an analyst, test event lead, and technical SME. In the past she has supported the UEWR and Cobra Dane sensors as an analysis tool developer. Darnisha received a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering and Master of Science in Aerospace System Engineering from The University of Alabama in Huntsville. Darnisha has been an active member of SWE since 2015 and enjoys the outreach work that SWE conducts on both a local and national level. Her personal goal within SWE is to continue supporting efforts to expand STEM educational access to minority communities. When not working or participating in SWE events, she spends her time baking, watching autosports, and traveling.
